Juhannus // Midsummer

Midsummer was great, loads and loads of relaxation, good food and Grey's Anatomy. I was sick the whole week, so didn't really feel like partying or moving anywhere from home. We went to the beach with Anniina and Viivi, ate awesome chicken salad, drove around Espoo/Esbo and watched a lot of Grey's Anatomy. Just what I needed, I was feeling calm and relaxed on Sunday, ready for this hectic week ;)

This week has been crazy, once again. With teaching people to do my work, being excited and scared of apartment stuff, getting my first offers from apartments, trying to figure out a time for IT to take a look at my Mac, trying to get my diploma sent to Finland and worrying about the nervs on my hands/arms. So far everything has gone rather well, today was +29 C outside so I'm not complaining! Now Im getting ready for my flight tomorrow, and getting on that party mood!

Heating smoothie bags on a warm whateverthatscalled

Also, my future sister in law was babysitting these two cutiepies at her parents place in Lippajärvi. Such a cuteness overload! Just what I needed on Thursday (and Friday, Viivi and Anniina agree these were cute!). Again, mind the Samsung quality..

Retards much?

In sickness and in health

Dear Johanna and Sofie,

First of all I would like to thank you both for an awesome, epic weekend ;) I had a blast, and Im looking forward to the 27th! Hope you guys had as much fun as I did!

I'm on sick leave for the rest of the week. Now that the nervs in my arm are finally getting better, Im sick with "unspecified upper respiratory infection". Yup, so my luck! Got some blood drawn this morning (AUCH!) and my inflammation "values" or "levels" were normal (no shit say I, been eating meds for the past week to get rid of what ever the fuck is wrong with the nervs). Anyways, since I'm already up I thought I would share a few photos from my cameras from the past weekend.

ALSO I'm still excited about the acceptance email I got yesterday from TEKO, can't wait to move there and start a new school! Like Sofie said, its going to be legendary! In the near future I will start writing in Finnish as well, so my family and friends can follow the journey of me becoming a BA in branding and marketing management ;)

Now time for that photospam!

The only pic I have from friday!
Apart from this ofc. Gotta love the Samsung quality...

Got 20 dollars in my pocket

Dear Johanna,

Today has been the same; bumping into things, hitting my head, loosing keys and cursing. As the oral presentation draws closer, I am getting a bit stressed out, not because I dont have enough to talk about, but because I have too much.. The art of minimalism has never been my strong suit. However, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

In the midst of all this powerpoint fun, I had one of those "I need a 30 second dance party"-feelings. Our song hit the speakers and I just had to get up and shake my booty a little bit ;) Although 30 seconds suddenly turned into 5 minutes. Very Grey's Anatomy like, got my groove on and some temporary motivation to continue with distribution channels, advertising and marketing mixes. I know you want proof (as always) so I proudly present, 5 minute dance party with Jass feat. Macbook pro and Macklemore (boy thats a lot of macs).

30 second  dance parteeh!!

Pusssss och kram, vi ses imorgon!

Oh yeah

Did some packing as well!

Now back to this, early to bed and fingers crossed the strike doesn't affect me tomorrow!

Kiitos ja kuittaus from Stensviken, Esbo! Vi ses imorgon, smukke ;)

Yours truly,

Jass

One of those days

Dear Johanna,

Today has, once again, been a slight nightmare. Nothing seems to work for me here, except for weekends, and everything after work.

My day started out with one of the coffee machines looking like it has exploded. Wet coffee shit everywhere, and we're talking about a machine that is 2m tall.. After that, I succesfully poured like a gazillion euros on the floor (inventory going on, and that means the "coffer" or money bank inside the machines needs to be emptied into a bag. Which I succesfully missed). As if that wasn't enough, I actually locked myself inside my van. In the trunk. Literally inside my fucking trunk. Allthough big, I was feeling a bit claustrophobic thinking about how long I would have to stay there. Luckily, I'm blessed with quick brains, jumped over a million boxes in a wanna-be Superman position, got the sidedoor open and escaped. As if that wasn't enough, I continued this newfound Superman inspiration of mine and with wet shoes (while rushing to get something to eat), half fell sideways, hit my arm on the side of the door, but had quick enough feet to recover before hitting the ground. And nope, still not enough, also hit my head when loading my van, which btw is fucking full, will upload a picture tomorrow ;)

This was more or less what I must've looked like:

This is me more or less every morning for the past few weeks:

And this is me for the past two days, after eating the best meals ever:

Now I will get back to finishing school (fuck oral presentations and HOLY CRAP THAT THUNDER!!) and I will see you my little country girl this friday! (Lights are flickering.... Oh boy)

Miss you, puss och kram,

Jak

Galna Dagar

Hecticness has just reached a whole new level! Due to some changes in staffing, and the Crazy Days (Hullut Päivät/ Galna Dagar) days at the showroom have become longer and there's a lot more rush and running around like headless chickens. Last week we started preparing for the packing of the collections. This ment taking out the carry over-and PR styles. This week we have been packing away pretty much over two-thirds of the brands and collections we have. Oh and counting... So much fun! Not. A little FIY: the Crazy Days are held at the Stockmann department stores (to those of you who live in Denmark, it basically is the Finnish version of Illum).

Anyways, after these long long days of packing and counting and running around I am more than pleased to catch a fligth tomorrow (15.40 to be exact) to nowhere else than the lovely COPENHAGEN! Can't wait to see everyone and party like we've never partied before.

I wish everyone a happy, good and love filled weekend and I'll let the pictures do the talking! ;)

Inevitable change

Yes, I guess its time for me to finally switch to a touchscreen phone. Something I've been dreading for years, but the fact is my Nokia is just not keeping up with the world and technology. And I'm being a cheapass scrooge and won't pay 400 euros for a damn phone.

Anyways, here are the pics from monday, and my "id" card from the fair. This is definetely ending up on my "memory wall" when I get back home to CPH. ;)

Hecticness

Hello hello hello, the past two weeks have been really hectic, and the next few are gonna be just as hectic. I've been busy with everything; keying orders before deadlines (YIKES), picking out PR stuff (SO HARD!), cleaning, packing away old collections and making room for the new ones, staying in touch with the new customers we got from the fair, trying to agree on payment&shipment things.. And the list goes on and on...

Anyways, thought I would start by sharing a few pictures from today, but my Nokia is being a pain in the ass, so we'll skip straight to the shoe fair! It was an amazing opportunity and a wonderful experience, at least for me. It did get a bit boring at times, I mean who likes sitting on their butts doing nothing for hours, and then have a lot of customers come in at the same time, all wanting to place an order and asking questions about the freight costs and where the leather is imported from and about the assortment sizes and what not. For a first time I think we did pretty damn well! 99% of the meetings we had agreed on actually took place. It was also interesting to see how fast word actually travels, and how well everyone knows each other in the shoe business. By Sunday we were known as the place where you could get the cutest and wildest bags(Friis&CO) and the brightest and cutest sneakers (Keds) from.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the actual hotel, where the fair "arena" was actually located in. The hotel was really nice, and I gotta admit my inner child got out every night after 7 when I went to the waterpark(!!!). Only bad thing was we didn't have a proper, wholebody mirror ANYWHERE! Major minus!

Our "showroom" was located on the second floor(which was circuling the "arena"). Great view and Sherlock Holmes mode on. Now here's some pictures from the Griffin&Co room ;)
